We solve off-grid power supply problem by transferring kinetic energy to electricity.
Kinetic energy is about harvesting the power of motion. It can be moving, walking, running, pushing, pulling, cycling, dancing, whatever action you can think of. Imagine you walk to work this morning, and your every step is captured to power your phone. Or imagine there is an attachment to your car, and the power generated during your daily drive can power your TV at home. What about a gym that is fully powered by the power generated from people who run on the treadmill?
There’s a lot of equipment at the airport that can hugely benefit with proper asset management system. Often times these equipment gets misplaced and tracking these equipment prove to be extremely difficult as it requires a positioning system like a GPS device but charging the GPS might not be feasible due to the environment.
One example of such a problem exist with dollies at the airport. Dollies are non-motorized cargo vehicles that’s towed by tow truck to deliver goods and cargos on and off the plane. Due to the airport operation these dollies often gets misplaced and locating these expensive dollies is a challenge.
In 2020, ROLLOGO had completed a poof-of-concept project for Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited. We harvest the kinetic energy of the wheel rotation of the dolly, to power and provide an tracking information of the dolly and the cargos.
However this technology isn’t just limited to GPS, we can use this self-sustainable system to supply endless power for other sensors, like Empty/Loaded Indicator, Motion/ Acceleration Sensor, Speed Sensor, SlopeSensor, Thermometer and CCTV on dolly, etc. Without our kinetic system, it will require the dollies to be constantly charge daily for it to work .
The development of the 2nd version of the Dolly Solution is in currently in progress now.
